Bruce Hampton

Bruce is a founding partner of 5th Century Partners (“5CP”). Over his private equity career, Bruce has completed several buyout transactions, representing over $2.0 billion in enterprise value. Prior to founding 5CP, Bruce was a Vice President at The Vistria Group, a Chicago-based private equity firm with over $6.5 billion in AUM, where he led transactions primarily in the education and healthcare industries. Prior to Vistria, Bruce was an investment professional at Sun Capital Partners and Gauge Capital, where he focused on investments in the consumer, healthcare, and business services industries. Earlier in his career, Bruce was an investment banker at J.P. Morgan (right here in Chicago), where he focused on leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, and debt offerings across a variety of industries.

Bruce received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Finance from Indiana University where he was a Varsity Football Letterman and two-time Academic All Big-Ten Award Recipient.

Marques Torbert

Marques is a founding partner of 5th Century Partners (“5CP”). He has spent time in private equity, as well as building and scaling a lower middle market business as an operator.

Prior to founding 5CP, Marques was the CEO of Ametros, a middle market, private equity backed healthcare and insurance services company. While at Ametros, Marques led the company’s overall strategic direction and grew the company’s enterprise value by more than 15x during his tenure. Prior to Ametros, Marques was an investment professional at Clarion Capital Partners—a middle market private equity firm—where he focused on consumer and business services. Earlier in his career, Marques was an investment banker at Lazard Freres where he focused on mergers and acquisitions across a variety of industries. Marques also received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Economics from Columbia University.
